Therapeutic Systems, LLC is working to develop therapeutic medical technology that directly benefits patients with autism, ADHD, and other pervasive developmental disorders. The company’s primary product is the Deep Pressure Application Device (DeePAD), initially developed at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. The system is a garment-like device that can discreetly and effectively apply deep pressure to a patient anytime, anywhere and is a technological leap over currently used therapy products.

Sensory Integration and Deep Pressure

Deep Pressure is a Sensory Integration intervention where physical deep touch is applied to a person; it has been observed to relieve anxiety, increase focus, and reduce self-injurious behaviors in some children with Sensory Processing Disorder, autism, and other pervasive developmental disorders.
